Is It Bad For A 10×12 Deck Be Covered By 3 Gallons Of Wood Protector?
yes that is way to much. you should not even need a full gallon for a deck that small. if you apply the wood protector that thick you risk not letting it dry properly. it could also become gummy when heated by the sun. i have seen this done before and every time the family pet laid on the deck in the sun it carried some of the sealant away with it. just use two or three light coats with plenty of time in between to dry. save the extra for repeat sealing in future years.

I would try and soak up the excess if you still can it may make your wood brittle and splintery. I believe with any kind of protectant the cfoats should be applied in thin layers 2 of them
